Previously the private home of Jat rulers who rose in prominence during the decline of Mughal Empire, this fort has been extensively renovated in the 1930’s. Now a modern hotel, it still preserves the old world charm. The Unchagaon hotel features all the 21st century amenities within the ramparts of a 19th century fort. Amid lush green lawns and a rural setup, one can truly experience the royal heritage of ancient India.
Built on the banks of the mighty Ganga, Unchagaon fort provides a panoramic view of the river as well as a chance to view the rare Gangetic dolphins which are known to frequent this stretch of the river.
Presently Unchagaon Fort offers 19 double rooms and suites. It boasts of a multi-cuisine restaurant and recreational facilities like badminton, cricket and table tennis. Conferencing facilities for up to 50 persons, is also available.
