Char Dham Yatra- the Way to Ultimate Peace of Mind

The Char Dham Yatra refers to the pilgrimage to the four holy places in India namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. According to ancient Hindu mythology, it is believed to be the sojourn of our lifetime and is the only way to redeem or wash our sins. One can attain true peace of mind by taking this journey. The Char Dham Tour, organized by Leisure Hotels, is the best way to embark on a peaceful pilgrimage that’s no way devoid of the luxuries needed to keep you rejuvenated and fresh for life.

The Char Dham Yatra starts from Badrinath which is a major tourist attraction in Uttaranchal. The temple is situated at a height of 3133 meters and is worshipped as the domicile of Lord Vishnu, the creator. It is believed that the holy river Ganga starts her journey on earth from Badrinath. The place is famous for its hot water pools viz. Tapt Kund, Narad Kund etc. The prehistoric temple of Kedarnath is believed to be the holy home of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Hindu mythology states that the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati help eradicate all evils. The temple is one of the twelve shrines of Lord Shiva present in the country. Due to heavy snowfall in the winter months, it remains open only for a period of six months. The Gangotri is situated at a height of 3200 meters above sea level. The divine place is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and opens during the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. The Yamunotri is the last place of the Char Dham Tour. It is the birth place of river Yamuna.
