Exploring the Beauty of Corbett National Park


The most beautiful as well as the oldest wildlife conservation area of India, situated in Jharkhand, named Jim Corbett Park, covers a total area of almost 1300 sq km. The park itself covers around 520 sq km and the reserve forest extends to around 470 sq km. The main flora of the area consists of some of the most beautiful and rare trees such as the sal, khair, semal, seesham, rohini besides khingan and kharpat.

There are hundreds of wild animals, some of them carnivores that include the tiger, leopard and different species of cats that include civets. There are herbivores in the Corbett National Park of India and these include different species of deer and antelope such as the Nilgai. There are sloth bears and the Himalayan bear as well as elephants and wild boar and various species of monkeys.

The Jim Corbett Park has probably more than 500 different species of birds. Apart from the resident birds such as pheasants, peacocks, pigeons, owls and hornbills abound, there are migratory birds as well which come here in some particular seasons as well. There is also a rich and diverse collection of reptiles too in the Corbett National Park of India.

These include the two types of Indian crocodiles: mugger and gharial; as well as the magnificent King Cobra, Russell’s viper, common krait, the Indian python, monitor lizards etc. are among others. Places like: Bijrani, Jhirna, Durga Devi, Dhikala and Sitavani – fall under several other places of interest. Paying a visit to the place is worth in every way.
